The Compressor effect is used to reduce the dynamic range of an audio signal - make quiet sounds louder, and loud sounds quieter.
AVS Audio Editor will apply the Compressor effect along with the Noise Gate filter. This will help get rid of unnecessary noise by eliminating audio signal below the specified threshold.
