VPX is an open video codec released by Google, originally created by On2 Technologies. This codec was designed with the goal of achieving an outstanding quality at low bitrates, with very low complexity.
The resulting output when you use VPX codec for compression is the WebM file type which provides a royalty-free, high-quality open video compression format for use with HTML5 video.
The following tabs of the codec settings window are available:
General settings include Encoding Mode, Encoding Time, Bitstream Profile, Rate Control Algorithm, Lag in Frames, Threads Count, Error Resilient.
Rate Control settings include Resampling and Quantizer.
Bitrate settings include Bitrate Tolerance.
More settings include Key Framing and Decoder Buffer Model.
