Setting Markers
The markers can be used to mark some moment in the audio to quickly return to it later or mark a selection to quickly copy or delete it.
The current version of AVS Audio Editor allows you to either mark the necessary parts manually or set them automatically based on time or silence detection.
To set markers automatically:
- click the Auto Markers button on the Edit Tab.
- in the Auto Markers window switch between tabs to select the appropriate option:
If necessary, you can enable the Warn me that ... new markers are found option. In this case the marking process will stop as soon as the specified marker number is reached and you will decide whether to continue the searching process or not.
- click the Start Marking button to launch the process.
The searching progress bar will be displayed. You can always cancel this process using the appropriate button below the progress bar.
To set markers manually:
The same way a marker for a selection can be set. To do that either select a part of the audio with the mouse and click the Add Marker button on the Edit Tab. Or make a selection and double-click the left mouse button within it on the gray bar between the Display Range Bar and Waveform Display (where the mouse standard cursor changes into a hand):
The set marker will have two boundaries - the first marking the beginning and the second the end of the selection.
